At BARC Business, we understand that starting and running a business is a journey driven by passion, vision, and determination.

I am an accounting, tax and finance professional, and I have spent years on both sides of the table: advising businesses and running my own properties and projects.

Debra Hildebrand

BARC Business is owned and operated by Debra Hildebrand. Debra has over 20 years experience performing audits in government and Fortune 100 companies. Additionally, she was an adjunct professor for Stanford University and University of Washington School of Business. She has extensive experience mentoring startups through various non-profits and has an MBA with a concentration in Finance from Columbia University. Debra is working toward her CPA license.

Why AI

Practical, careful and human-reviewed

AI can take real weight off finance and operations work: sorting transactions, summarizing reports, pulling data from documents and drafting workpapers. It works best when someone who understands the numbers sets it up and checks the output.

I also work on training AI systems on finance and accounting tasks. That gives me a close view of where these tools are strong and where they still need a professional's review, and I build that review into every workflow.
